On Saturday, the team would find mechanical problems hindering its performance. During the 2nd practice, the problems would get fixed, and Austin was able to make a few runs. For qualifying, the tires wouldn't hook-up. Austin's fastest lap was 0.18 seconds off the pole which would put him 11th out a tight field of 12.
With the ASA series being an "impound" series (meaning you can't adjust you car after qualifying), Austin was pretty much stuck with what he had. In the race, Austin would quickly pass one car to put him in tenth. The car got looser and looser as the race went on, and Austin wasn't able to pass anymore cars. The race went all 100 laps without any cautions, and Austin finished 10th. After the race Austin said, "This wasn't the rebound we were looking for. This finish will hurt us in points a little, but we can definitely make them all back up at the next race at Charlotte County Motorsports Park. We always do really well at that track."
